Cedar and Asphalt

Ever wonder what the black stuff was on your asphalt shingles? Black Algae. North Carolina is notorious for the amount of black algae on our roofs. This bacteria grows rapidly from high humidity. Cleaning the shingles with our roof solution will kill and remove the black algae, which is currently staining and ruining your roof.

Cleaning your cedar should be performed in as soon as 3 - 5 years after the shake has been installed. Our low pressure process is gentle to the shingles to prevent damage to the shake as high pressure washing can take years of life away from the surface. This is important for both cedar roofing shingles as well as cedar siding.

  • Ninety percent of the time we do not have to walk on the roof in order to clean, therefore extending the life of your asphalt or cedar shingles.

"...You must use extreme care because cedar is a soft, low-density wood. Excessive or imprudent use of high-pressure systems can detach shingles or erode many years of wear in moments - even though the roof will "look like new."
